Position Overview

Reporting to the Controls Engineer Supervisor, the Electrician will:

  • Safely ensure production machinery and building equipment are maintained in a safe operating condition to prevent interrupted production.
  • Construct, test, maintain, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, steam, and mechanical equipment/control systems.
  • Construct, test, maintain, and repair electrical/electronic equipment, instruments, control systems, motor controls, lighting, and branch circuits.
  • Consult manuals, schematics, drawings, and operating personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
  • Prepare and maintain records detailing tests, repairs, requests, and preventive maintenance.
  • Understand/Interpret National Electrical Codes. 
  • Understand/Interpret NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace and PPE requirements.
  • Understand/Interpret PLC ladder logic and field wiring.
  • Understand programming and operation of variable frequency drives.
  • Understand/Interpret maintenance and troubleshooting manuals.
  • Understand operation of pneumatic valves/actuators, centrifugal pumps, vane pumps, peristaltic pumps, diaphragm pumps, and gear pumps.
  • Installation of EMT, rigid, plastic conduits and associated wiring devices.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct safety inspections.
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Always ensuring the complete physical safety of oneself and one’s co-workers without exception.
  • Shows up on time, reliably completes tasks by the deadline, and adapts to changes in deadlines and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Works well with others to meet team goals and adjust to significant changes.
  • Active, physical role that includes operating a forklift.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical training preferred
  • Willingness to work overtime to support a continuous operation as needed to meet business obligations.
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Manufacturing experience is preferable
