Position Overview
A Gate Attendant is responsible for monitoring and controlling access through a gate or entry point to ensure safety, security, and efficient traffic flow. This role serves as the first point of contact for visitors, employees, and vendors, providing directions, verifying access credentials, and maintaining accurate records of entry and exit activity.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor and control entry and exit to the facility, ensuring security protocols are followed.
- Direct pickup and delivery locations for trucks entering and leaving the site.
- Informs appropriate personnel of product deliveries.
- Accepts and signs for deliveries from distributors.
- Receives and verifies accuracy of product deliveries
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as SDS, BOLs and other shipping documents
- Adhere to company policies and regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
The Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Willingness to work overtime to support a continuous operation as needed to meet business obligations.
- Strong commitment to safety
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Manufacturing experience is preferable
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a warehouse environment (e.g., product storage, product staging, forklifts, etc.).
- Experience preparing shipments for postal or commercial conveyance.
- Preparing bills of lading.
- Detail oriented in quantities, destinations and routings.
- Inspection of shipments for damage or defect, accurately record and notify
