Position Overview
The Lead Formulation Operator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating formulation activities on the production floor. This role ensures that processes are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards. The Lead acts as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to Assistant Operators (I and II), troubleshooting complex issues, and serving as the primary liaison between operators and management.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively operates and controls equipment and instrumentation in the assigned manufacturing unit.
- Leading the day to day shift operations of formulation in a professional and organized manner; leading, directing and coordinating assignments and activities of assigned employees to ensure the smooth operation of the process
- Maintains and monitors process equipment in accordance with established procedures and processes.
- Maintains and improves safety in the unit and is responsible for housekeeping in operating areas.
- Receives and processes raw materials using chemical reactions and manufacturing operations to produce finished products at the specified quality level.
- Supports and adheres to the principles of Responsible care and applicable requirements by protecting the environment and assuring the health, safety, and security of our employees, vendors, customers, suppliers, and our community.
- Performs additional work as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
- Assists in the formulation of agricultural chemicals, including fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides.
The Qualifications
The right candidate will be a safety-focused, motivated individual who can work both independently and as a team. Your qualifications ideally include:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Willingness to work overtime to support a continuous operation as needed to meet business obligations.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
