Position Overview

Reporting to Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanic will:

  • Perform routine maintenance checks and inspections on forklifts.
  • Responsible for repairing forklifts maintained in a safe operating condition to prevent interruptions in production.
  • Test, troubleshoot and diagnosis faults, as well as carrying out mechanical repairs and replacement parts.
  • Follow all safety regulations for the individual as well as other employees, including keeping the work area clean and in orderly condition as well as wearing all appropriate safety attire for the job that is being performed.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safely repair and service forklifts.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct safety inspections.
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Always ensuring the complete physical safety of oneself and one’s co-workers without exception.
  • Shows up on time, reliably completes tasks by the deadline, and adapts to changes in deadlines and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Works well with others to meet team goals and adjust to significant changes.
  • Active, physical role that includes operating a forklift.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 18 years or older
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions, and perform basic math.
  • Previous experience with the operation of fork trucks or other heavy machinery preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • 0 – 1 Year relevant work experience.
  • Frequently reach up to seventy-two inches.
  • Constantly bend, lift to 50 lbs., and twist while operating forklift, retrieving products from lower shelf areas.
  • Work on your feet for the entire daily shift.
