Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for safely ensuring production machinery and building equipment are maintained in a safe operating condition to prevented interrupted production.  

In this role, you will troubleshoot and repair machinery and facility equipment.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the department supervisor, the Maintenance Technician I will:

  • Ability to perform scheduled preventative maintenance to identify and replace failed components such as bearings, belts, motors, etc.
  • Dismantles/disassembles defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts to specifications using instruments and/or tools.
  • Strong knowledge of lubrication, hydraulics, welding, and pneumatics.
  • Maintains and monitors equipment in accordance with established procedures and processes.
  • Maintains and improves safety in the unit and is responsible for housekeeping in operating areas.
  • Supports and adheres to the principles of Responsible care and applicable requirements by protecting the environment and assuring the health, safety, and security of our employees, vendors, customers, suppliers, and our community.
  • Performs additional work as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Shows up on time, reliably completes tasks by the deadline, and adapts to changes in deadlines and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Qualifications

The right candidate will be a safety-focused, motivated individual who can work both independently and as a team.  Your qualifications ideally include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Willingness to work overtime to support a continuous operation as needed to meet business obligations.
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Manufacturing experience is preferable
  • Technical training preferred
  • Continuous improvement skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, safely use ladders, and tools to perform maintenance functions.
