Position Overview
The Lead Packaging Operator is responsible for leading employees to perform activities efficiently and safely, incorporating quality in every case within company specifications and schedules. The Lead is also responsible for the team completion of manufacturing processes that add value and quality to the final product.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Department Supervisor, the Shipping Lead will:
- Managing inventory and reporting discrepancies.
- Conducting quality control to ensure accuracy and condition of items.
- Supports the direction set forth by the supervisor and manager.
- Understand and follow safety rules including safe lifting practices.
- Personal Protective Equipment is to be used where required.
- Maintain general housekeeping in all areas of production.
- Leading the day to day shift operations of the shipping area in a professional and organized manner; leading, directing and coordinating assignments and activities of assigned employees to ensure the smooth operation of the process. Receiving and processing customer orders.
The Qualifications
The right candidate will be a safety-focused, motivated individual who can work both independently and as a team. Your qualifications ideally include:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Willingness to work overtime to support a continuous operation as needed to meet business obligations.
- Strong commitment to safety
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Manufacturing experience is preferable
Preferred Experience
- Forklift experience preferred or willing to be trained for certification
- Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing or industrial facility, formulations and/or packaging.
