Job Summary:

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring the efficient and effective management of inventory levels, and supporting overall inventory operations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to maintain optimal inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:  Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records. Conduct regular physical counts and reconciliations of inventory.
  • Stock Monitoring:  Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock is available for production and sales. Report any discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Data Entry:  Accurately enter data into supported system. Ensure all transactions are recorded timely and accurately.
  • Cycle Counting:  Participate in and lead cycle counting processes to ensure continuous accuracy of inventory records.
  • Discrepancy Resolution:  Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by coordinating with relevant departments, such as receiving, shipping, and production.
  • Reporting:  Generate regular inventory reports, including inventory levels, turnover rates, and discrepancies. Provide analysis and insights to management.
  • Process Improvement:  Identify opportunities to improve inventory control processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Compliance:  Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements related to inventory management.
  • Collaboration:  Work closely with production and cross-sectional teams to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Duties:  Employee may be assigned other duties as needed.
  • Safety:  Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field required.
  • Experience:  3-5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related field required.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar systems) is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel is required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and utilize office setting.
